How often should CoughAssist tubing be changed?

Wash every 2 weeks and replace every 6 months.
Start with the exsufflation (negative) pressure the same as the insufflation pressure, then increase the negative pressure to 10–20 cmH2O (1.0–2.0 kPa) above the positive pressure. The negative pressure is then held for 3–6 s, simulating the airflows that occur naturally during the cough.
The CoughAssist E70 removes secretions in patients with an ineffective ability to do so on their own. The device clears secretions by providing high frequency oscillatory vibrations while gradually applying a positive pressure to the airway, then rapidly shifting to a negative pressure.
Coughing clears mucus from the lungs and helps protect them from infection. A cough assist machine blows air into the lungs and pulls it out quickly to clear mucus. Cough assist treatment can help a child if they have frequent lung infections, weak chest or abdominal muscles or a weak cough.
Dispose of the 6-foot tubing and the bacteria filter. 1. Take apart your child's respiratory equipment and wash all the parts thoroughly in a mild liquid detergent and warm tap water. Completely rinse the equipment parts with hot tap water and shake out excess water.
